Hymers College Association

Dear Parent/Guardian,

On behalf of Hymers College Association, we extend a warm welcome to you and your child to the school and introduce you to the HCA. This registered charity is made up of trustees and volunteers, including parents and staff. With goals like other school PTA groups, we aim to raise funds for our pupils.  

Key Points   

We meet three times a year to review and approve funding requests, such as playground equipment, new theatre lights, sports equipment, murals for the junior school and so much more. 

 Separate planning sessions are held to organise events like the Michaelmas Fair and Garden Party, along with the ever-popular junior school discos. 

All funds raised directly benefit the students at Hymers Hessle Mount, Junior School and Senior School and Sixth Form.

All parents/guardians have the opportunity to support the HCA by a one-off membership costing £5 and this is shown as a charge on your ParentPay account. Membership is voluntary; please inform us if you wish to be excluded.

To Get Involved   

We would appreciate any assistance you can provide whether as a trustee or a volunteer. Volunteers play a crucial role in all our events, with some contributing regularly and others on occasion. New trustees and volunteers are always welcome to join us at any time and can attend any event or meeting.

EasyFundraising

EasyFundraising is a brilliant way to raise money for the HCA. Shop online from over 2,700 retailers and they’ll give a donation every time you buy something, at no extra cost. Here’s how it works:  

  1. Set up your account at Easyfundraising.org.uk and choose the Hymers College Association as your preferred charity to support. 

  2. Start your online shopping via easyfundraising.org.uk. Let’s say you want to buy a pair of shoes from John Lewis. Instead of going to johnlewis.com, you go to easyfundraising.org.uk first – or you can use the EasyFundraising App.

  3. Make your purchase. Click from the Easyfundraising website through to John Lewis to make your purchase. The price of the shoes is exactly the same as if you’d visited John Lewis directly. 

  4. Get a donation. After you have bought your shoes, John Lewis will make a donation to our cause as a thank you for shopping with them. Easyfundraising collect these donations for us, and it costs nothing!
