Getting to Hymers

With ten buses across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, getting to Hymers College couldn’t be easier. This includes a dedicated bus from Hymers Hessle Mount for pupils that studied there or have siblings who do. View our bus route map to find the one closest to you.

Your child can also travel by bike or can be dropped off. We have easy drop off points at both the Hymers Hessle Mount and Hymers College campus.

  • Find the timings and pricing for your route for the 2024/25 academic year:

    East Hull

    For these routes, a seat must be purchased for the whole term. We do not offer a pay as you go option.

    If you would like to use this service, it is essential that you complete the bus application form.

    Using the Kura app, your child can scan their ID card to board the bus. You will then receive notifications through the app when your child boards or disembarks or if there is a delay of more than 10 minutes. Buses can be tracked in real time. Kura is not available on the East Hull Bus.

    Bus charges will be added to your termly bill, payable in one of the following ways:

    a) If you have a direct debit in place this will be added to your extras, payable in three instalments due on 1 October, 1 February and 1 May.
    b) A bank transfer to be made before the start on the new term.

    The East Hull bus is provided by Ian Evans. All other services are provided by Acklams Coaches and information regarding potential delays due to bad weather etc. will be put on Acklams X (Twitter) page.

  • We have a daily bus service that runs between Hymers Hessle Mount and Hymers College. This is available to any Junior School pupil who has previously studied at Hymers Hessle Mount or has a sibling studying there.

    Estimated pickup/drop off timings are:

    Hymers Hessle Mount
    Inbound: 8:00
    Outbound: 15:50

    Hymers College
    Inbound: 8:30
    Outbound: 16:20

    A seat must be booked in advance for one of the following options:

    Mornings only: £750
    Afternoons only £750
    1 day: £288
    2 days: £576
    3 days: £864
    4 days: £1152
    5 days: £1440

    Parents will pay for all booked journeys through Kura at the time of booking and will pay per journey and not per day.

    Singles: £2.50
    Ad-hoc one-way journey - AM or PM on the day of choice. Must be used on the date specified when booking.

    Bulk bookings: £2 per journey
    Minimum of ten AM journeys or ten PM journeys - cannot be mixed and matched. Specified days of the week must be chosen at the time of payment but there is flexibility on the dates.

    For example, you could select every Monday and Tuesday only for five weeks (ten AM journeys) or you could select a date range, i.e. 28th May - 11th June, excluding 10th June. This would mean your child will travel every weekday apart from the 10th June.

    All tickets are non-refundable.

    If you are unsure of your schedule and whether your child will need to use the bus, please purchase singles.

    Bookings cannot be amended once scheduled.

    Booking time: Parents can book up to 90 minutes before the departure time.

    All none-booked ad-hoc journeys will be charged monthly through ParentPay at £4 per journey.
