Dozens of pupils celebrate success in Hymers College Science Challenge
Dozens of pupils and their families from across the region were welcomed to Hymers College this week for their Science Triathlon Celebration Ceremony.
The awards ceremony was a culmination of Hymers’ inaugural science challenge, which the school hosted in January. 11 schools participated in the competition, including Hull Trinity House Academy, Withernsea High School and Holderness Academy.
The Science Triathlon saw students take on real-world inspired challenges in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. As well as celebrating their success, during the event the families were given the opportunity to explore Hymers College’s recently refurbished laboratories and to get an insight into the activities the pupils undertook as part of the challenge.
The Celebration Ceremony was supported by Hull-based companies Wood and Cargill, Croda in Goole and Phillips 66 in Immingham, with representatives from each of the companies announcing the award winners:
The Wood Independent Award for Energy Storage and Security - Maia E, Holderness Academy
