Consider yourself Artful, Ram
We are delighted for Year 8 student, Ram, who has landed the role of Artful Dodger in the Leeds Playhouse’s production of Lionel Bart’s Oliver!
Ram first auditioned for the role of Oliver but was asked to re-audition for the role of Artful Dodger. This second audition was via a self-tape where he recited lines from the scene where Oliver first meets Artful Dodger plus singing the song Consider Yourself. From this, Ram was invited to attend in person where he smashed the audition.
He is one of three Dodgers who will play in 24 shows each between November and January 2024 and has been rehearsing three times a week since September.
The rehearsals and now building up with the full company now rehearsing together.
Ram says he is loving his role and can't wait to perform to a live audience!
Ram is thrilled to have landed this role and is thankful to Mr Stanley, Dr Bennett and all his teachers for their support as he juggles rehearsals alongside school work.
Prior to this opportunity, Ram performed with the British Youth Music Theatre in the summer on the world-premiere of their new production “The Naughty Carriage on The Orphan Train”.
